When I was 18 I bought a used 1992 Kawasaki Ninja 600 from a buddy, it was my only mode of transportation for several years. After the bike was thoroughly worn out I decided to scrap it and make a go-kart with the engine. Partially because I had little to no budget and the overall stupidity of the project, It didn’t last very long. After a few weeks of it being on the road and a few crashes, It finally ended as I spun out, hit a curb. This last crash bent the cheap undersized axle and threw most of the components not well mounted from the frame. Since that day the engine has been laying under a tarp on my dads property overgrown with bushes for about 13-14 years before this project. Many times I’ve told people I always thought it would be a cool if I found an old golf cart that doesn’t run and swapped in that motor. One day at work while telling this same story, my coworker said “I have an old golf cart, It’s my brothers and it’s in the woods by my house.”

This is what happed next…

This was the original go-kart built with the Ninja 600 engine. My roommates and I were broke at the time so this was a very “budget” build.
